As an aside, one other contender in this space, Google TV, is also coming this fall. However, unlike the other devices, it integrates with cable or satellite TV, in addition to offering access to some web services. We omitted Google TV from this lineup, but will take a look at how the device compares to the competition once it ships. Right after we commissioned this infographic, Roku announced that it will be adding Hulu Plus support to all of its units later this fall.>

Will this make you watch more TV? "Verizon lets viewers tweet & update their status on TV - Springwise"

Media_httpwwwspringwisecompixspotlightfiosjpg_jzeuphhixgogkaf
The Twitter widget, available to the approximately 2.5 million households with FiOS TV, has been very successful so far, with some 1 million users in the first few days. It's part of a suite of applications available to FiOS customers through the service's 'Widget Bazaar', which also includes a Facebook app—proving popular for picture sharing—and Blip.tv, which hosts user-produced video content. Following in the footsteps of Apple's trendsetting App Store, Verizon has announced that it will also be opening the Widget Bazaar to third-party developers.

Older technologies that have sought to integrate the web and TV have failed to make much of an impact, and it remains to be seen whether new television interfaces will be able to compete with the laptops, netbooks and smartphones that have already joined their owners on the living room couch. The larger implications are less uncertain: by giving viewers real-time connectivity as they watch, Verizon is tapping into a growing consumer trend. More about that in our sister-site's latest briefing on nowism.

Meet the boys from Fight Quest.

I was at the media event last year when Jimmy and Doug first visited Malaysia to promote their series Fight Quest on Discovery Channel.

The series follows two guys, Jimmy Smith and Doug Anderson, all over the world to study the local martial arts under a Master for 5 days. At the end of their crash course, they are thrown into the ring and each has to fight with the top fighters there.

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry watching 2 Americans with a 'bring-it-on' attitude fight Asians they thought would be their own size but turns out to be 1 head taller (I'm taller than them too). They promise lotsa fractures, tissue traumas, concussions, hemorrhages, as well as pects and abs for the ladies.

The boys are back again and again, they are conducting a self defense workshop for women. It's brought to you by Astro (where you'll find the Discovery Channel) and unfortunately is only open to Astro customers. There are 2 workshops on Saturday Mar 21 at 12pm and 2pm for 1.5 hours each. Get your girlfriends/sister/mom, any woman you care about to register. DM me on twitter. Seats are limited. Don't miss it. It's really good.
